Fantassia attraction park family team

Behind the Fantassia amusement park it’s a family of big dreamers, a team of passionates.
We work every day to bring you dreams and magic. Let’s go !

The story begins in 2001

It’s a lifelong dream, explains its founder, Guy. In fact, almost a childhood dream.
Thus, Guy will bring his wife Françoise and his two daughters Aude and Aurore into his passion. From then on, they went to the South of France. The whole little family settled in Théza, a small village located in the Pyrénées-Orientales (66) near Perpignan in Occitanie.
First of all, you will need to acquire 5 hectares of land. Then build Fantassia park on one of these plots. Last but not least, never run out of ideas.

The Fantassia amusement park is a very small team, a park on a family scale.
Françoise. She has a green thumb and is capable of transforming wastelands into extraordinary gardens. Everything grows in his expert hands!
Aude. She’s the amusement park artist. She makes the decorations in resin and concrete. Hippogriff, dragons, volcano and even magical trees are born between her magical fingers.
Aurore. She maintains the mysteries surrounding elves and fairies through short stories and riddles for all ages. Tales and legends come to life in his overflowing imagination.
Finally, Guy. He is the designer of the leisure park. He creates and repairs puppets of the Magic Circus in particular. A real watchmaker’s work.

Mimosas pompoms in bloom at Fantassia amusement park

In this mild month of February, the mimosas are in bloom at the Fantassia amusement park.
Unfortunately for our dear visitors, the park is still closed to the public during this winter season. So, smell this scent in your imagination…

The mimosa ID

Your papers please !!!
The mimosa is a member of the acacia family and flowers from January to March. Did you know that there are more than 1200 different species?
In France, its usual height is 10 meters, which is still the equivalent of 2 giraffes! In Australia, its country of origin, some are even almost 30 meters long. Guaranteed stiff necks if you admire them!
On the famous “Côte d’Azur”, it was some rich English men, based in Cannes, who introduce the mimosa. From 1880, the “Côte d’Azur” became one of the world’s largest producers. The city of Grasse has experienced significant growth with the exploitation of mimosa, used for its essences. We call the “Mimosa Route” the 130 km which connect Bormes-les-Mimosas to Grasse, a tourist route to be taken between January and March to admire the flowering of mimosas which highlight the dazzling blue of the Mediterranean.

Did you know that ?

The mimosa flower symbolizes magnificence, elegance, simplicity, tenderness and friendship.
It also represents feminine energy, hidden beneath an apparent fragility. For this reason, since 1946, the mimosa has been the emblem of Women’s Day, which takes place on March the 8.
In your dreams, the mimosa is a sign of security. So, as magical as the key to dreams at the Fantassia amusement park, mimosa could keep your children’s nightmares away…

Climbing ivy to make shadow at Fantassia park

At the beginning of February, the ivy receives the prize for excellence at the Fantassia amusement park.
Indeed, this climbing plant has many qualities. Thus, it naturally covers the shaded areas of the park, very appreciable in summer.

Shaded areas completely redesigned

Since the creation of the Fantassia leisure park, 20 years ago, we have continued to improve it for the comfort of our visitors.
This is why, in 2024, the shaded areas of the Enchanted Forest attraction will be completely redesigned.
Indeed, the brand, covering the wooden structure and supposed to provide shadow, has deteriorated significantly over time. It is true that it was installed when the park opened to compensate for the absence of plants at that time. Over the seasons, we have planted many Mediterranean species such as ivy. Today, we would like to highlight ivy at the Fantassia amusement park. So, there is no need to replace the damaged brand since this climbing plant is starting to climb the summits! Indeed, it clings hard to the posts of the shaded areas to line the roof.
So, all we have to do is show it the way to have a 100% green roof.

The ivy Echanted Forest

Currently, we are working at the Enchanted Forest attraction to develop the shaded areas.
Firstly, the defective brand is carefully removed (or what remains of it).
Then we install a mesh structure acting as a roof so that the ivy rests there and makes its way.
Finally, all we have to do is wait for nature to operate. Each year, ivy can grow up to 1 meter.
A natural and inexpensive shader!
